In 2013 Whittard of Chelsea, the famous British tea and coffee company, invited a2d to assist in the development of 4 new retail formats: Store-in-Store, Pop-up Store, Trade Fair and Standard Store Concept. Over the course of just 9 months, a2d created a brand new, fully stand-alone Pop-up concept, including full till system and tasting counter, to be installed in just a few hours on a shopping mall concourse. Complete, individual, mobile components are wheeled onto a system timber floor, connected together and then merchandised. On 24th March 2014 the first ever Whittard of Chelsea Pop-up Store opened for trade in the St. David’s Centre, Cardiff.
